David Dodds is a passionate teacher and motion graphics professional with tons going on right now! From publishing his first book to teaching multiple courses on animation and creativity, David is very involved in the industry and has no plans of slowing down! He is proud to be a published author, inspirational public speaker, and teacher at UCLA. David is a
multi-faceted artist and is involved in a multitude of creative ventures. In this conversation with David Dodds , we learn a little more about his passions and what brought him to be one of the leading motion graphic professionals in the nation.

----
Tell us a little about yourself.
----
I’m a teacher and motion design artist with over 10 years of experience in the field. I believe in destiny and I think I was put here to create, teach, and inspire others. I currently teach animation at UCLA and also work as a motion graphics professional. I've been fortunate enough to work with big brands such as Disney, NFL, Netflix, Nestle, X-Box, and Marvel. I like to stay busy in my career and I continue to pursue new ventures in the creative world!

---
What are your passions?
---
Im passionate about motion design, because it's the most exciting field in the world! I love to teach and inspire others through public speaking. I also enjoy creating animated shorts, and I like creating one-of-a-kind hand-painted clothing. I feel that we are in the golden age of content creation and I'm passionate about working in an ever-evolving industry that knows no bounds.

--
Tell us about your new book
--
It's kind of crazy, but I was approached out of the clear blue and offered a book deal! I poured all of my experience as a teacher and working motion graphics professional into this book. My book offers professionals or beginners a clear path to becoming an expert in Adobe After Effects.

---
What are your career goals?
---
In my career, I want to share creativity with the world and help others reach their creative spark, whether that be through animated films, illustration, or other design ventures. I have a deep passion for teaching and I want to help the world reach new heights with creativity and motion graphics design.

---
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
---
In 5 years, I see myself continuing to teach, learn, and tell more stories through animation and motion graphics. I want to reach my full potential in sharing my passion for art and animation with the world. I want to continue to evolve as a motion graphics professional. I want to leave a thread for many generations to come to pick up and continue.

----
What services do you offer?
----
I offer motion design solutions, mentorship, workshops, public speaking, and classes in person and online through UCLA and Skillshare.
What would you recommend to anyone

----
looking to get into motion graphics?
---
First It’s important to discover your own unique creative voice, no one can be you. To learn and grow as a motion graphics artist, I would contact both UCLA Extension and Skillshare. As an instructor, I offer two levels of motion design classes and mentorships. There are thousands of avenues to gain more experience with motion graphics, including online classes, videos, and in-person classes all over the world.
